I matured just south of Stanthorpe, even though it’s a wonderful place, and I fully recommend a visit there, let me tell you, in the winter months it can get quite cold!
I found myself some wussy little kid (now I’m a wussy adult) and even though I don’t mind the elements being cold, Personally, i don’t like being cold. And So I had an electric powered blanket. Sometimes I’d “forget” to change it away, and yet be toasty warm and hesitant to put my toes out in the -5 mornings…
So I are aware of the appeal of any electric blanket, and the way nice it is actually for another thing to get keeping you warm on those quite chilly nights. However, it isn’t really healthy.
The major reason electric blankets aren’t healthy for you may be the obvious one: it’s a fire risk. Because they’re folded / rolled up half the season, and on a bed with bodies lying on the top and receiving wrinkled for part of the year, the wiring can be used within fair amount of stress. As we grow older, the insulation round the wires could become brittle or broken, which could lead to shocks on the sleeper, or short-circuits and potential fires.
The second best practice to minimise probability of fires or shocks from Best Electric Blankets 2017 Review is to get it checked each and every year, before you use it, by way of a qualified electrician. They will check the visible wiring and connections, and test the voltage and current, that will indicate whether there’s a quick circuit, and counsel you accordingly. If in every doubt, throw it out!!
Another primary reason you need to reduce electric blanket use is simply because it might generate a high electrical and electromagnetic field, through which you’re sleeping. Or seeking to. Our bodies communicates electrically, and electrical or electromagnetic fields may cause insomnia, restless or non-restful sleep, that “jumping” feeling you sometimes be in muscles, anxiety and sometimes nightmares.
Needless to say, the next best way to reduce these risks would be to turn off the electrical blanket before you get in bed, or at least within 5 minutes of having in. This may also prevent b1ankets in the middle of the evening in a hot sweat… something I actually have done many times like a forgetful child!
You’ll note I’ve said these choices second best. That’s because the most suitable choice is actually not to use an electric blanket whatsoever.
The other options are there? Well, there’s always that lovely standby, the recent water bottle. These are awesome, cheap, you can find really cute and cosy covers for them, and so they get the added bonus which can be used them being a COLD water bottle in summer.
